Saint Thomas Aquinas Children's Choir

The Saint Thomas Aquinas Children’s Choir recorded live at “An Evening of Thanks” on Saturday, November 17th 2008, singing: For the Beauty of the Earth, Maria Pluta playing Flute, Karl Kessler playing Viola, Lynne Kolodinsky playing the organ, and Brian Dean Sousa, conducting.

The Saint Thomas Aquinas Children’s Choir is open to children from the ages of 5 – 12. This is an excellent opportunity for your child to interact with other children who have the same interest in singing. The children will learn to read music and all it entails: theory, rhythm, accurate sight singing, and more. They will also learn to read English (for the younger ones), and other languages such as French, and Latin. Part of their choral experience entails memorable performances with other great musicians and the satisfaction of working hard with others for a common goal. Rehearsals are held on Tuesdays in the music room and they break down in the following way:

Ages 5 – 7 rehearse from 4:30PM – 4:50PM by themselves
Ages 8 – 12 then join the younger group (ages 5 – 7) from 4:50PM – 5:10PM
Ages 5 – 7 are dismissed at 5:10PM
Ages 8 – 12 rehearse by themselves from 5:10PM - 5:40PM
Ages 8 – 12 are dismissed at 5:40PM

The music room is located to your right when you enter the church building from the parking lot. If you have any questions about the Saint Thomas Aquinas Children’s Choir program please contact Mr. Brian Dean Sousa through email: music@stauva.org or phone: 434-293-8081 ext. 15.
